Neanderthals At Higher Risk
Neanderthal Family

Warn Your Friends and Family

People with Neanderthal DNA are three times more likely to have severe covid-19 than other people, the Guardian reports. THe same is true for the Eastern European people called the Denisovans.

The result is from a global consortium that studies how genetics are related to the severity of covid-19 illness.

Science magazine reports that “Paleogeneticists realized about 10 years ago that most Europeans and Asians inherited 1% to 2% of their genomes from Neanderthals. And Melanesians and Australian Aboriginals get another 3% to 6% of their DNA from Denisovans, Neanderthal cousins who ranged across Asia 50,000 to 200,000 years ago or so.”

This blog strongly recommends that Neanderthals and Denisovans double mask and avoid the public for the next couple of years.
