Who Needs Vaccine?

This Post is Satire

It is foolish and dangerous to encourage the spread of covid-19. Sadly, the facts are true. I’m trying to draw attention to the appalling surge of cases.

Wearing masks, distancing, and handwashing remain the only ways to control the pandemic. In the future, vaccine should help, too.

Crowded Covid Ward

We've Got a Better Strategy

Last week the number of covid-19 cases in the US reached 100,000 a day. This week it’s nearly 200,000.

The population of the US is a little over 300 million. About 10% now have antibodies to covid-19. If 200,000 get covid every day, it will take five days to infect an additional million people. In a month, six million people will be immune (minus those who die.)

In no time at all, the US will have surpassed the minimum 40% estimated to provide herd immunity. Easy peasy.

Of course, some experts estimate we’ll need more like 90% positive people to stop transmission. If people wear masks and distance, we’ll reach herd immunity even sooner. After all, there’s no reason the daily case and death toll might keep accelerating. Lucky us.

Don't Listen to the Doctors

Pettifogging medics say it’s dangerous to infect millions of people because many might die. Pshaw.

We’ve ignored them so far and the results are gratifying.

US Government Doing Its Part

Right-wing rallies are responsible for an estimated 30,000 cases and 700 deaths. This very day, the “Million MAGA March” hosts thousands of people crowded together and not wearing masks.

As of Nov 13—a Friday—the Secret Service has 30 new cases and 90 more people quarantining. That’s the fourth epidemic in the service.

Way to go!

Plans for vaccinating the US population remain a closely-guarded secret. Makes sense.
